Things My Momma Taught Me

  • A strong cup of coffee is the best way to start your day.
  • Pearls dress up any outfit and add that extra bit of pizazz.
  • Read the book first. It’s usually better than the movie.
  • Sleep in cozy pajamas.
  • Hate is a very strong word. Usually, you don’t mean it.
  • Send handwritten notes ‘just because’.
  • If you’re going to highlight your hair, don’t let your roots show.
  • Fill your house with fresh flowers.
  • Ladies should not swear.
  • Put zit medicine on before you go to bed at night.
  • Sparkling bubble water with a slice of lemon is the perfect afternoon pick-me-up.
  • Less is more.
  • Be financially independent.
  • A tan really can make you look and feel better about yourself. Ha!
  • Wear good, supportive shoes even if they’re not the most attractive- your feet will thank you later.
  • Always send thank you notes.
  • Have faith and pray for patience to know that everything works out the way it is supposed to.
  • Pedicures are a nice way to treat yourself.
  • Charlie Brown and Snoopy will never fail to bring a smile to your face.
  • There is nothing wrong with wanting to stay on your couch and curl up with a good book or your “friends” on that favorite TV show you just love.
  • Work hard.
  • A little mascara goes a long way.
… the list could go on and on and on. My mom tends to ALWAYS know best, no matter how hard it may be to admit it sometimes. Happy Mother’s Day to the very best momma out there!!
